Pre-assignment screening and care

An essential part of any mission agency’s duty of care is to ensure their teams are medically and psychologically robust for their assignments.

Tailored for both long-term and short-term mission workers, our medical and psychological screening services enable mission organisations to achieve best practice in the duty of care. They will ensure that their recruits are physically and psychologically resilient and prepared for their roles ahead.

Short Term Screening (pre-travel)

You may have previously used this service when it was called Volunteer Health Screening. We decided to change the name to reflect the diversifying nature of the individuals we are screening through the service.

For short-term mission workers we offer paper based or electronic short term screening. Short Term Screening is a service recommended for volunteers going overseas on a short term assignment (less than 12 months) and enables organisations to minimise the risk of avoidable illness and to promote good health. It is also available as a remote service.

Pre-Assignment Medicals

We recommend Pre-Assignment Medicals for all long-term mission workers (over 1 year) working in developing countries. The focus of a Pre-Assignment Medical is to help ensure that individuals are medically fit for the specific roles they are to undertake in a defined part of the world and in our experience it can be dangerous to omit.

Pre-Assignment Psychological Clearance

Mission agencies are recruiting staff to work in increasingly challenging and high risk environments, both internationally and in the UK. A thorough Psychological Clearance offers you an independent, professional opinion on the psychological health of each individual, ensuring they are psychologically robust and well prepared for their assignment.
