Remote Health Screening

Our remote health screening services offer a medical clearance process for individuals who cannot attend a face-to-face medical at InterHealth, or who are travelling on a short term visit as a staff member or volunteer. Remote health screenings can be undertaken prior to, during or after an international assignment.

Adult Health Screening

An increasing number of relief and development agencies are decentralising recruitment to regional offices, or recruiting across borders. Ensuring that individuals recruited between countries are medically fit for their roles can be a difficult task to achieve, especially when the quality of health services accessed in-country may vary.

Our Adult Health Screening Service is a medical assessment that enables us to ensure that potential recruits are fit and able to undertake their proposed assignment. It minimises the risk that underlying health issues will hinder an individual’s performance in the field.

A local doctor/GP performs medical assessment & provides results to InterHealth to scrutinise. A report is provided to the sending organisation. This excludes charges made by the local doctor/GP. This service is only available if it is difficult to visit InterHealth for a medical (or if living outside the UK).

Who is it for?
Adult Health Screening enables organisations to screen individuals who cannot visit the InterHealth London offices but who need health clearance. This includes individuals who are recruited from one country to another, outside of the UK (e.g. Malawi to Tanzania)

What does it involve?
Medicals are conducted by local doctors, clinics or hospitals known to the agency, to InterHealth or to the individual, adhering to InterHealth recommended protocol including physical examination pro-forma and recommended tests. The results of medical assessments are reviewed by an InterHealth clinician and a recommendation made as to whether individuals are unconditionally fit for work, have health issues which need to be taken into account in their placements, or in rare cases are unfit for posting.
