Why carry out PEHAs?

What does it involve?

  • Your prospective employee completes either an ‘on-line’ or ‘paper-based’ questionnaire.
  • InterHealth’s OH team review the questionnaire.
  • Based upon InterHealth OH clinical judgement, a follow-up telephone or face-to-face assessment may be necessary.
  • A written InterHealth OH report
     

Pre-Employment Medicals

Why carry out these medicals?

  • The clinical examination & related tests confirm fitness for work.
  • Professional medical and lifestyle advice is given to help empower each employee to manage their own health more effectively.

What does it involve?

  • Your employee completes a health questionnaire.
  • InterHealth clinician reviews the questionnaire.
  • A clinical examination.
  • A height, weight, blood pressure and urine test.
  • Tests including full blood count, cholesterol measurement, liver and kidney function.
  • Health education, medical and lifestyle advice.
  • A written InterHealth OH report.
     

Night Worker Health Assessments (NWHA)

Why carry out NWHAs?

  • By law you must offer NWHA to any of your employees who are, or are going to be, a night worker.
  • To protect the individual’s health, safety and wellbeing by ensuring that they are fit for night work.

What does it involve?

  • Your employee completes a  health questionnaire.
  • InterHealth OH review the questionnaire.
  • Based upon InterHealth’s OH clinical judgement, a follow-up telephone or face-to-face assessment may be necessary.
  • A written InterHealth OH report.
     

Drivers Health Assessment (DHA)

Why carry out DHAs?

  • To ensure your employees are fit for driving, when driving is a significant component of their role.
  • To ensure existing health conditions are not likely to put your employees, passengers or other road users at risk.

What does it involve?

  • Your employee completes a questionnaire.
  • InterHealth OH review the questionnaire.
  • A height, weight, blood pressure and urine test.
  • Eye test.
  • Simple hearing test.
  • Assessment of mobility.
  • Health education.
  • A written InterHealth OH report.
