Last year we were selected as a partner organisation by BT as part of their volunteering initiative. To demonstrate the value of the scheme, BT's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Board visited InterHealth...
Hosted by Andrew Holt, Finance Director at InterHealth, the team were taken through a typical client journey, which included a stop at InterHealth’s expanding TravelShop that delivers medicines and travel supplies to humanitarian aid workers worldwide. InterHealth now have over 200 charity clients worldwide and provide essential travel health advice to help individuals and client organisations reduce their health risks whilst working overseas.
Of particular interest to the BT CSR Board was the skills and experience gained by their managers (David Fidge and Steve Sharpe), specifically relating to working within smaller organisations with limited resources. Whilst working closely with InterHealth’s Client Relations & Marketing team, the BT managers have helped to double InterHealth’s website hits and to re-vamp its e-client relationship model. The BT pair have also helped to increase InterHealth’s GAP, Volunteer and Occupational Health client base.

To underline InterHealth’s increased communications ability their CEO, Kevin Belcher recorded a short podcast for the visitors from a conference in Barcelona.
The success of the relationship has been clearly demonstrated, as BT has extended both managers' involvement with InterHealth. InterHealth is now planning to offer online training and social networking links to ensure that their mission - to support the health and well-being to those committed to making the world a better, fairer and healthier place - is fulfilled. This technology will be extended globally so that relief, mission, GAP staff and volunteers can continue to be supported whilst in challenging locations.
