Staff at Work & Returning to Work

Work-related ill health and sickness absence place an increasing cost burden on organisations.

We can help support your employees at work and those returning to work through attendance management and by ultimately aiming to achieve good health in the workplace.

Occupational Health Consultations

Why carry out a consultation?

  • To manage the implications/results of employee ill health.

  • When there are employee health concerns, we provide a detailed opinion and advice to help develop a reasonable management plan.

  • To address work-related health concerns e.g. sickness absence, disability, alleged work-related illness and ultimately fitness to work.

What does it involve?

  • Employee referral: You will be required to complete an InterHealth OH referral form for each case (your HR or a line manager can complete this).

  • One of the InterHealth OH team will contact the referrer, if required, to discuss the case.

  • InterHealth’s OH team will arrange a 60 minute consultation with the employee.

  • A written InterHealth OH report.

Medicals

Why carry out a Medical MOT/Wellness Medical?

  • To assess the health of busy employees who may neglect their own health
  • An opportunity to identify serious health problems early and prevent illness.
  • We recognise that the health concerns of male and female staff can vary and therefore we offer a Medical MOT for men and Wellness Medical for women.

What do these medicals involve?

  • A review of their medical history.
  • A physical review/examination.
  • Blood pressure check.
  • Set of blood tests including: anaemia and white cell check (full blood count), blood sugar levels (for diabetes), cholesterol levels, kidney & liver function.
  • Discussion of any work or leisure related health problems.
  • Additional tests by request can be carried out including thyroid function, & prostate screening for men over 45.

GP or Consultant’s Report

Why contact an employee’s GP or Consultant?

  • Requirement as part of any OH Consultation or Risk Assessment
  • To seek support with appropriate medical certification or to request a medical report.
  • To confirm the approach being taken by the employee’s organisation.

What does it involve?

  • Arranging employee consent.
  • Writing letter/ requesting report.
  • Follow-up to confirm receipt and ensure early response, if applicable.
  • OH feedback to the organisation as required.

Work Coaching

Stimulate change by supporting your staff
Poor working relationships, lack of team motivation?

If any of these sound familiar then coaching may be right for  some of your team members or project leaders.

InterHealth has teamed up with AMAK Organisational Psychologists to offer a stimulating new coaching service that combines coaching and psychological health expertise. Personal attributes, current and past experiences in the workplace all contribute to an individual’s ability to perform in the workplace.

Time management, interpersonal skills, anger issues can make meeting deadlines and working with other team members very challenging. Coaching can help an individual to focus on the root cause of issues that are making their work life difficult in order to create pathways for improvement and better performance.

Can you identify if any of your staff need support with coaching that could improve the success of projects?
