Malaria can often be fatal so you must travel prepared if visiting a malarious area. With increasing resistance to certain antimalarials it is essential to know what will be effective. InterHealth provides a variety of antimalarials. Our Nurses will advise on which one is the best for you either face-to-face or via our Advice Line (for subscribers only), then you can add the right medicine to your online shopping basket.
Malaria is more likely to be serious in those who do not take malaria prevention tablets. Although these do not always prevent malaria, they usually reduce the severity of the attack. Administering malaria prevention tablets to children is quite an art! Try crushing tablets and mixing them with jam on a piece of bread.
If you stop taking antimalarials too soon, you may contract malaria. Take those tablets to the bitter end!
