We offer a suite of services aimed to support your staff in preparing for their international travel, whether they are embarking on a brief policy meeting, or whether they are undertaking sensitive and high-risk work in fragile states.
Our pre-departure travel health services include:
Our specialist Travel Clinic is located in central London and runs a vaccination and travel advice service for short-term and long-term travellers and volunteers going abroad.
InterHealth is a World Health Organisation recognised centre for yellow fever vaccination. We are able to provide individuals with up-to-the minute recommendations on vaccines and antimalarials from our specialist travel health databases.
In our Travel Health consultation, our nurses take care to discuss important health issues, advising how the individual can maximise their chances of staying well. Our nurses give recommendations on immunisations and antimalarials tailored to the specific needs of the traveller. All immunisations are available at InterHealth though we usually recommend that those available on the NHS are given by the GP when time allows.
Our TravelShop provides access to a wide range of travel supplies and equipment that can be purchased online or from our clinic in Waterloo, London. We stock a broad range of travel supplies and medicines including malaria prophylaxis, mosquito nets and DEET repellent, travel health guides, sleeping bags, sun protection, personal medicines , first aid kits and water purification tablets.
Visit our online TravelShop (to order any medicines you need to be a TravelWell Plan subscriber).
We offer a range of pre-departure health clearance services to government agencies, enabling them to ensure that travelling staff are fit and healthy for their projects ahead. Depending on the duration of international travel, a paper-based health screening, or a face-to-face medical may be required.
In both instances, the individuals’ health is considered in view of their proposed work overseas and any pre-existing medical conditions. The individual is thoroughly briefed in how to effectively manage their pre-existing health conditions whilst travelling, and alterations to the individual’s trip may be advised if necessary. Sending organisations are provided with a Health Clearance Form from our doctor and a full report is sent to the individual, including test results and any health recommendations.
For civil servants and consultants to government we also provide a thorough Psychological Clearance which offers you an independent, professional opinion on the psychological health of your candidate/s.
This focuses on the individual’s psychological fitness to undertake the specified assignment or to work within the ethos of a particular governmental organisation.
Government agencies are recruiting staff to work in increasingly challenging and high risk environments, both internationally and in the UK. The individuals you recruit need to be psychologically robust, well prepared and aware of the risks associated with their new positions or assignments. This can help significantly in protecting and promoting the wellbeing of both the individual/s concerned and those with whom they will work.
Testimonial
"The First Aid course was excellent and beyond my expectations in terms of content, presentation and opportunities to interact with what was being taught. It provided not only a first aid refresher but some hugely useful ideas for overseas work which I've never come across in regular first aid courses in the UK."
