Medical & travel health advice from the UK
For medical advice, InterHealth nurses and doctors are available to subscribers via email, which we aim to answer within 24 hours, and through our telephone Advice Line which runs from 2-3pm every working day.
For urgent medical advice, individuals can call our 24/7 emergency phone line.
Whilst overseas, volunteers, expeditioners and staff will have access to our online Travel Health Advice Centre. Read about the sites main features
Volunteers and expeditioners are encouraged to have password access to our Travel Health Advice Centre and to take a copy of InterHealth’s Travel Health Pocket Guide published by Berlitz. Together these two resources help to prevent illness and to guide individuals on the best course of action if illness strikes.
"I have found the response of InterHealth's doctors both timely and professional. With the very nature of an expedition to remote sites giving rise to the threat of volunteer injury, it is essential to be able to call upon immediate advice from doctors.
"Using emailed images and telephone diagnosis, our staff teams in the South Pacific have been able to liaise easily and effectively with InterHealth's doctors in the UK to ensure the best possible care is provided at all times. Leading expeditions 10,000 miles from UK, and working with an 11 hour time difference, provides uniquely difficult challenges. When the care of our teams is concerned, it is reassuring to know that there are highly competent medical professionals on hand at InterHealth, at all hours of the day, to offer this practical advice and assistance."
