Dr Ted Lankester

In the 1980s he worked in the Himalayas, setting up health programmes in mountain villages and refugee camps. As well as practising at InterHealth, Ted now co-leads the Community Health Global Network (CHGN), is a regular speaker at international conferences on both travel medicine and global health, and does consultancy work with WHO and other organizations. Ted is a Foundation Fellow of the Faculty of Travel Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. 

Previously, Ted served as a Tearfund trustee and board member for 9 years, and as Assistant Editor of Tropical Doctor. Ted has been a council member of Global Connections, a Board Member and Trustee of People in Aid and was until recently, on the Advisory board of NaTHNac, the government body responsible for regulating the healthcare of tourists and travellers. Ted lectures at several university courses on Primary Health care in Developing Countries.

Ted has written several books including The Travellers Good Health Guide 2006, the Berlitz Travel Health Pocket Guide 2007, various textbook chapters on travel medicine, and Setting up Community Health Programmes: a practical manual for use in developing countries, Macmillan 3rd Revised Edition 2008. He is married with three daughters and his interests include travel, cross country running, health care mission and biodiversity.

Claire graduated in 1996 from St Bartholomew's medical college. Her overseas experience began in 1997 as a medical officer with Operation Raleigh in Uganda.

She undertook the Diploma in Tropical Medicine at the London School of Tropical Medicine in 2000. This lead her to India as part of the STOP Polio project, followed by a year in chronic disease management in Ethiopia. For the last 3 years she has been working as a GP in East London.

Vanessa trained at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne undertaking her medical elective in Zimbabwe and Malawi. Following graduation she spent a year in Emergency Medicine before going to Central America to take part in voluntary work.

Vanessa continued her Emergency medicine training in Australia and then returned to the UK to train as a GP. Until joining InterHealth in 2005 she worked as Medical Adviser to the Foreign and Commonwealth for 3 years providing all aspects of expatriate health. As part of that she travelled widely assessing the quality of medical facilities available around the world. In 2004 she completed a Diploma in Travel Medicine and gained the International Certificate in Travel Medicine in 2005.

Vanessa is also part time Travel Medicine consultant at the National Travel Health Network and Centre (NATHNaC).
 

Dr Clare Redstone

Clare has worked as a GP in the East End of London since 1989 and started work at InterHealth in April 2004...

She sees her role at InterHealth as enabling her to support and encourage people in their work overseas.

She aims to help people be well for travel overseas, stay well while away and, if need be get well again on their return ready for the next challenge. Clare sees health as being more than physical so relishes the opportunity to spend longer with each client than she can in General Practice: a step nearer to practicing "whole person health care."

 

Dr Ian Campbell

Ian started with InterHealth as a travel health clinician in February 2008...

Ian coordinated support to the health programmes of The Salvation Army worldwide between 1990 and 2007. Prior to this, Ian was the medical officer in charge of a large mission hospital in Zambia. Building on his international experiences with HIV/AIDS, Ian is a founder member of Affirm Facilitation Associates, a consultative practice supporting faith linked responses to HIV/AIDS in local communities.

Affirm is linked with InterHealth and the Community Health Global Network in a partnership for Global Health. Ian has recently attended the launch meeting in Nairobi of the WHO sponsored ''Community Health Response Programme' for which Affirm is a lead implementer".

 

Dr Susan Beattie

Susan is a travel health clinician and has been working at InterHealth since June 2008...

Having moved from Australia, Susan is currently living in London and has previously been involved with general practice, travel medicine and medical screening.

We’re delighted that with all her knowledge and experience she is part of the InterHealth team. Susan is a keen traveller and completed her medical elective in Nepal.

Dr Daniel Campion

Daniel started with InterHealth as a travel health clinician in May 2011...

Daniel graduated in 1995 from the University of Edinburgh. After first training in emergency medicine, he qualified as a general practitioner in 2004. He worked for three years as a part-time volunteer for Médecins du Monde UK, in a primary care clinic for vulnerable migrants. He is an enthusiastic traveller and has also worked in Guatemala, Peru, Viet Nam and Australia.

Daniel's clinical interests include occupational medicine and global health. He is a fellow of the royal society of tropical medicine and hygiene, and an affiliate member of the faculty of travel medicine.
 

Nicki Boddington
Clinical Research Lead
Nicki joined InterHealth in October 2007 as a Business Development Intern having graduated from Durham University...

Since then she has worked in the Client Relations Team supporting gap, volunteer and expedition organisations, whilst she completed her Masters in Public Health at Imperial College, London. Nicki is now the Clinical Research Lead at InterHealth which involves managing the clinical research we do here at InterHealth, of which one key project is the GeoSentinel Network.

Nicki also works part-time at the National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC).
