Is my information secure when I’m using MyHealth?

InterHealth takes your privacy and security seriously. You can be confident that we are always looking for ways to protect your vital information, yet meet the goal of working together for a healthier you!

By using MyHealth you are accessing your own medical information over the internet.

You need to be sure your information is secure and protected. It is a nd InterHealth makes this a priority.

How is this accomplished?

Perhaps you noticed when you access MyHealth that the web address begins with https:// and not just http://?

What does the ‘s’ mean?

When you access an https:// web address the communication between your browser and the website is encrypted using an SSL/TLS (Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security) protocol. This protocol codes the messages so that only your browser and the site you are accessing can read your information; not anyone trying to intercept your messages.

This protocol is administered by a certificate. There are actually two certificates involved in your MyHealth access:

one that governs your access to the website
and another that, behind the scenes, retrieves your medical information from the InterHealth clinical administration systems and passes it to the website for it to then to pass to you.

You can be assured that no one can intercept your personal information on its way to or from MyHealth.

What about the website?

None of your medical details are stored on the website itself. When you access MyHealth what you see is freshly constructed for you; none of your personal information is kept or left behind in your browser.

Your login and password details for the website are secured behind a firewall that strictly controls who has access.

When your session on the MyHealth website is finished any cookies or cache are cleared when you log out or close your browser session.

All this means that none of your medical details are accessible by anyone but you, and nothing personal to you is left on the computer you have used when accessing MyHealth.
