As a Christian specialist health charity, InterHealth focuses on preventative healthcare, empowering those in UK Christian ministry to lead healthier lifestyles. We are more convinced than ever that finding problems early, before they become serious is crucial. We see many individuals working for churches in the UK who are passionate about their roles but through their dedication, may neglect their own health needs.

Highlighted below is our Christian Ministry Medical which may be of interest to those in Christian Ministry. A Christian Ministry Medical is approximately 45 minutes long and will include any necessary tests, such as blood tests and tropical screening (for those who have been travelling overseas). We recommend that individuals undertake a medical with us once every two years.

In 2008 we conducted 73 Christian Ministry medicals. We picked up a range of health issues ranging from early diabetes to early leukaemia. Most commonly we worked with individuals to overcome the challenges of raised blood pressure, raised cholesterol and weight, all of which may have had serious long-term impacts on the person’s health.

We feel that our work in this area provides a significant contribution to the promotion and maintenance of health and wellbeing, as well as reducing the challenges and potential costs associated with sickness absence and ill-health retirement.
