Travel Health Advice Centre (THAC)
As part of the the new travelwellplan you will be provided with access to the InterHealth Travel Health Advice Centre (THAC).
This will be provided when you subscribe to the travelwellplan.
This is a brilliant online resource for those often placed in remote places far from advanced medical care.
Why have we created THAC?
The site has been created to provide tailored, consistent and up-to-date travel health information and guidance for overseas workers and travellers. It will enable individuals and groups of travellers to access sufficient information about recommended immunisations, antimalarials, outbreaks and travel health supplies recommended. We are focused on making our knowledge and experience as widely available as possible, and the travelwellplan has been created to achieve this goal.
The clinicians at InterHealth are continually amazed by two things:
- The first is that so many health problems could be prevented or treated early before they become serious – just through basic knowledge and information.
- The second is the number and range of enquiries we get by e-mail and phone from clients serving all over the world. When we audit these, many could be answered by travellers accessign information online, leaving us more time to deal with serious enquiries.

Easy to search, reliable and comprehensive; the site includes tailored country profiles, news bulletins and information on immunisations and a range of specific health conditions. Designed for use before and during travel, including those in remote places far from medical care.

- A wide range of travel health advice about pre-existing medical conditions such as Asthma, Epilepsy, DVT, HIV and AIDS and much more.

Our sources
How does InterHealth ensure THAC is kept up-to-date and relevant?
A We use a variety of different sources for our information including international travel health databases e.g. Travax and NaTHNac in the UK, CDC in the USA, disease alerts via Pro-MED, WHO and Ministries of Health in individual countries, highly respected news sources such as the BBC, Reuters and CNN.
