TravelWell Plan

The benefits of the TravelWell Plan and how to subscribe

How do I subscribe to the TravelWell Plan in order to take advantage of some of the discounts you offer?

InterHealth runs a subscription plan offering individuals and organisations working in the not-for-profit sector discounted prices and a wide range of benefits.

Is my organisation a subscriber to the travelwellplan?
If you’re not sure, please give our reception team a call and they’ll be able to tell you.

How do I gain access to the Travel Health Advice Centre (THAC)?
All individuals and workers who belong to subscriber organsiations will have automatic access to a unique website called the Travel Health Advice Centre (THAC). If you haven’t been given your unique website link tagged to your organisation, please e-mail us at thac@interhealth.org.uk (THAC support) to find out what it is.

Will Health Information Packs (HIPS) be available?
Not any more, but THAC is better and more comprehensive. THAC has been developed in response to the changing information needs of relief and development workers and the mission, volunteer and GAP year sectors. We have designed this site to deliver tailored travel health information and guidance to staff and volunteers anywhere in the world.

What if I can’t find my country profile in the destination list?
If your country of destination doesn’t appear in the list then we will be more than happy to provide a country profile on request. Please send us an e-mail at thac@interhealth.org.uk and we will e-mail you a country profile within 3 working days. Please remember to specify where you are going and the nature of your trip.

How do we ensure that all team members travelling overseas receive the same advice from THAC?
To ensure consistency, it is best for a team leader or team organiser to select the relevant country information from THAC using the “Download a report” function, and distribute it to team members.

How can we maximise the benefits of the new site for our staff and volunteers?
HR staff and managers can encourage their staff to register ASAP to familiarise themselves with the site, and to log on regularly. InterHealth staff will also direct patients to the site. You can also add the THAC logo to your intranet, extranet or to your desktops so people can access your site easily.

How do we get travel health advice over the phone and by email?
If you can’t find the information you need on THAC, advice can be given by phone or email. See www.interhealth.org.uk/telemedicine.htm for details. If you want to order medicines from the online shop, you will need to have received advice either over the phone or face to face.

How does InterHealth ensure THAC is kept up-to-date and relevant?
We use a variety of different sources for our information including international travel health databases e.g. Travax and NaTHNac in the UK, CDC in the USA, disease alerts via Pro-MED, WHO and Ministries of Health in individual countries, highly respected news sources such as the BBC, Reuters, CNN, etc.

Our volunteers don’t have an organisation e-mail address; they have personal ones such as yahoo, gmail and hotmail. Can they log into the site too?
Yes they can, but their registration will need verifying, unlike those who log in with your organisation e-mail who will be able to go straight into the site. Please click here to read your guidance notes on how to access THAC.
