What is InterChange?

Interchange is a confidential Careers Guidance Service offering the opportunity to identify your strengths and interests and discuss work and training options:

Employment decisions - information and guidance to support you in your choice of work, including understanding the range of options available, entry routes, training and qualifications and change or progression
Information on qualifications and study options at college or university, on the job or by distance learning, and possible sources of funding
Problem Chapters- a chance to talk through problems at work or strategies for coping with transition
Job Search (not a vacancy service)

- identifying transferable skills and competencies

- support in looking for a new job

- help with CVs, applications, interview skills

Personality Profiling- understanding what makes you tick, with reference to your choice of work, your work style and relationships with colleagues (and friends and family!)

Who can use InterChange?

You can!

InterChange was designed for those returning from abroad (regardless of how long or brief their time abroad has been) and for HQ staff in this country, but has been used by others as well.

Who is Joy Lankester?

Joy is a qualified and experienced Careers Consultant working with Adults. Her work includes being an Adult Advisor for county Careers Service, a College of Further Education and the Open University. She is a member both of the Institute of Career Guidance, the British Psychological Society and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development

Joy grew up overseas and later lived and worked in India with her husband Dr Ted Lankester and their three girls. The experiences of living abroad and readjusting to life and working in Britain gives her valuable insights into what makes transition for an individual or family both difficult… and possible.
