Projects

CHGN is in an exciting phase of its development. The network now has a database of 1,500 members and contacts involved and interested in community health.

Last year we co-chaired a consultation with the World Health Organisation on how NGOs can be more effective in promoting a renewed Primary Health Care agenda.

We receive more requests and opportunites that we can currently take on, and are looking for more volunteers, prayer parthers and funders during these urgent times as world poverty further worsens owing to the world wide recession.

To give you a better idea of what the UK-based CHGN team are working on, here are the priority projects for 2009:

  • To mobilize and build further regional clusters, following the successful pilot cluster in India.

  • To develop a collaborative arrangement with a major international partner for the benefit of many programmes in Africa and Asia.

  • To radically update our current website into a high class and valuable resource, easy to use and with wide appeals.

  • To use new and existing ways to communicate effectively with all members including the use of SMS technology.

  • To develop a worldwide database of consultants and supporters based locally who can add greater power, effectiveness and reach to the Network.

  • To ensure that the added value of a faith-based approach to health care is emphasised, and materials and approaches are developed which leads to the integration of Christian values, beliefs and models into health programme activities.
