InterHealth is a healthcare charity specialising in tailored healthcare services for charities, international aid agencies, faith-based agencies, gap year organisations and NGOs, as well as a number of UK-based companies.

InterHealth offers a carefully focussed medical for
UK-based staff working in agency and company headquarters, especially those in positions of responsibility or who travel overseas regularly. We provide a similar service for individuals who wish to have a regular medical review.

By giving you an unhurried, unthreatening yet thorough medical check-up we can help to identify any important health concerns. This also helps us to pick up problems that may be developing, so that early action can be taken. Typical examples are raised blood pressure and diabetes. A normal medical includes a range of blood tests (haematology and biochemistry), including cholesterol levels, and prostate tests for men aged 45 or over. You are free to opt out of any part of the medical if you wish.
Our medicals also include an opportunity to discuss whether any additional health screening would be beneficial (e.g. for bowel or breast cancer).
A biennial medical provides the opportunity to review your lifestyle, work-life balance, exercise and pressures at work. This enables us to draw up plans with you, so as to maximise your health within the situation you are in.
Specialist Referrals
If necessary, we can refer you to a network of private specialists who practise within the London area. Those on our referral list cover almost all medical and surgical specialities and a number are prepared to charge reduced fees for those working in the relief/development and mission sectors. We can also write to your GP, (if you wish), regardless of whether any referral or follow-up is needed.
The InterHealth team includes a psychologist, psychiatrist and a psychotherapist (who is also a counsellor). We are able to refer you to a member of our Psychological Health Services team for further care and counsel if you wish – including topics such as work-life balance and stress management.
Because InterHealth also specialises in Travel Medicine and we run a nurse-led travel clinic, we are able to offer you specialist travel health advice for any overseas trips. You would need to mention this when you book in for your medical. We can also provide a full range of travel health services and supplies for any overseas team which you or your organisation may be arranging.
In addition to a thorough medical with one of our doctors, the Biennial Medical PLUS provides you with a further 90 minutes of confidential discussion with one of our qualified and experienced practitioners to discuss any issues you may have, including: work-life balance, stress management, anxiety and burnout or how to cope with the pressures of your work and life.
Ongoing advice and support
Our advice is that you should have a medical every two years. Some older people or those with particular concerns may opt to have annual medical reviews. You are welcome to contact us by phone, letter or email any time within 2 years of your last medical, if you wish to follow-up on any health problems. Unless this proves very time-consuming it is covered in the cost of the original medical, as a complimentary service.
Many of us find that within a busy lifestyle and with limited NHS resources, there are few chances to discuss confidential matters. At InterHealth, we are happy to discuss any health-related concerns you may have. Complete confidentiality is assured. Nothing is barred and you need feel no embarrassment about bringing up any topic that is of importance to you.
Where your medical is part of a regular service provided by us for the organisation you work with, we will ask for your consent before we pass comment to your organisation on whether and how any health problems might affect your fitness to work. No confidential information will be passed on without your informed written consent.

These charges cover a full medical, normal blood screening and standard off-site advice for up to two years. Any additional tests, extra investigations, psychological or travel health services you require outside the standard medical offered, will carry an additional charge.
If your organisation is paying for your medical we bill them direct. Otherwise payment is at the time of your medical, by cash, cheque or card.
